Pedro Rodriguez, a historical Barcelona
player who has scored more than 100 goals, is going to take part in the Eurocup
this summer to defend the Spanish colours. People say that Pedro is going
because David Villa finally isn't, but there are other
players like Adrián or Soldado who may have deserved to go.

I think it is the case that Spanish coach Vicente Del Bosque elaborates the final list of called footballers for the Eurocup according to their performance during this previous season that has just ended. So, taking this in account, I would argue that Pedro Rodríguez is not the best candidate to have finally appeared in the final list, even less if knowing that this season has not been the best for him, especially due to his numerous slight injuries which haven’t permitted him perform in optimum conditions. However, it is true that he completed an excellent match at the Copa del Rey’s final, scoring two of the three goals for F.C.Barcelona. This has surely catapulted him to the final list.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, it is clear that there have been other names that have been heard as possible candidates to defend the Spanish colours during the Eurocup, such as Adrián (from Atlético de Madrid) and Roberto Soldado (Valencia C.F). I think that they have completed a quite remarkable season, especially Adrián, winning the UEFA Europa League cup final against Athletic de Bilbao with his team and scoring one goal and provoking another one in Spain’s most recent preparatory match for the Eurocup, an “amistoso” against Serbia.
I personally think that, from these three players, Adrián is the one who deserves it the most, and it is a shame that he can’t be in this European tournament.
I don’t consider myself a football fan.
ReplyDeleteNevertheless, I have been invited to Camp Nou a couple of times and have watched some matches in television hanging out with some friends.
I may not be the most adequate person to comment whether FCBarcelona player, Pedro, deserves to participate in this European Championship or not, but I do know that Pedro is an outstanding football player and that his goals are critical in important matches, such as the cup final which took place this week-end. So I don’t see why Pedro shouldn’t be invited to join the national team in the Eurocup.

Although Pedro has been very important during the last few years, he does not deserve going to the Eurocup this summer. Soldado and Adrian have done lots of things during this year and they have scored more goals, played more minutes and their good play has been constant throughout the year. By contrast, Pedro has played very little and has not played well until the end of this campaign. However, Pedro can be very important for Spain and we all expect that Spain wins this Eurocup in order to be the first team to win consecutiveley two Eurocups and a world cup.

Ignacio I don't agree with you, I think that Pedro has played many minutes for show that he disserves playing this Eurocup .I think we can't compare Pedro with Soldado o Adrián because they don't play in the same position. Pedro is a midfielder while Soldado is a front player.
ReplyDeleteActually i should say that Pedro R should go to the Eurocup because i think it is a good player for the second halves of the matches, as he's a dynamic and speedy player.
ReplyDeleteMoreover, i don't think that Pedro is there to supply David Villa, he is there to give some speed to the attack.
i certanly should say that adrian should go to the Eurocup as he has demonstrated that he is a great player, better than Soldado. i think that Negredo is a player of the type of llorente so i think Del Bosque should had choosed adrian, that is another type of forward.
Pedro is known for being a very good and talented player and although he hasn't done a very good season I think he deserves going because of the world cup of 2010, where he did an splendid job.
ReplyDeleteOn the other one hand I think Adrian and Soldado have done much more than Negredo for being in the Euro cup, they both have scored many more goals than him and have done a much more efficient game in order to help the team. Therefore I think Adrian and Soldado deserve going to the euro cup instead of Negredo.

Jose I don't agree with you that Pedro hasn't done a good final season, this Friday he scored two goal in the final of the Copa del Rey and just two weeks assisted for win the match against Betis, therefore I think that he is obviously deserves playing this Eurocup.
ReplyDeleteI said Pedro should go to the World cup even he hasn't done a good season, because being frankly and honest, he hasn't done a good season because of injuries and other problems. I agree with you when saying he has done a good final of the season , I think this has made Del Bosque, Spanish coach, take him to Poland.
