Hamit Altintop joins Galatasary

He started just two games this season with Madrid and arrived at the club carrying an injury.

The Turkish international Hamit Altintop today told the Turkish press that he is leaving Real Madrid to join Galatasaray. The 29-year old midfielder arrived to Real Madrid at the start of 2011/12 season from Bayern Munich.

It is not a big surprise that Altintop is leaving Madrid, as he has failed to be in José Mourinho's team this season, with only two starts and seven substitute appearances from many matches Madrid has know decided to sell him. It is official his departure but we don't know how much has Galatasaray paid yet.

How much do you think this player costs? Would you have sell this player if you were Mourinho?

  1. Firstly, I think it has been an error of Real Madrid asking for the services of Hamit Altintop this year, what every football follower is asking is: Why Mourinho asked for this player? He has started just two games this season with Madrid and arrived at the club carrying an injury. Although some might thing he would had been a good player for Madrid, we have to bear in mind that he hasn’t have anything good enough to play for Madrid, he is not a young player who has a future with expectations, he hasn’t got by far the quality his team mates have and also, he hasn’t played any finals or important matches so he can’t transmit experience to the club.

If I were Mourinho, I wouldn’t have asked for this player but now it is in Madrid, the first thing I would do if I was him is selling him to Galatasaray. The idea of selling the player benefits as the club, Madrid will be able to include a new player in their team and will gain money for the transfer, as Altintop who will dispose of more minutes played in Galatasaray and also will be able to socialize himself better because his new team is in his country of origin.

Well, I certainly don’t have an idea of what would he “cost” for his new team, but what I know is that this poor player, known as a good player internationally, plays only a couple of matches after having made a great effort for achieving the fame.

So I think that it has been a good idea to sell him so that he can be used by other teams with worst players that surely are willing to take him to play in the first team, and at the same time help Altintop achieve the fame he deserves, as well as not making him feel as if he was any unimportant player.

So in conclusion, I think football coaches should have a little of head and heart and not buy a player just to have him in the team, but for using him in the pitch, because this destroys anyone both morally and physically.
