European Music Awards 2010 tonight.

This year, Madrid is the lucky city that will host the European Music Awards, probably the most important and international music awards in Europe apart from the BRITs. The awards will be held this night, so this means that many international stars are already in Madrid, which puts our country in the spotlight for music fans all over the world tonight!

In case you are interested, you can watch the show tonight on MTV at 21:00.

There is a long list of performers that will hit the stage tonight, including Katy Perry, Linkin Park, Rihanna, B.o.B, Hayley Williams... Apart from these, many other stars will enjoy the awards, that will surely be a lot of fun to watch and hopefully will include many surprises.

Some of the nominated artists are Lady Gaga, Kings Of Leon, Rihanna, Miley Cyrus, 30 Seconds to Mars, Paramore, Muse... You can check out the whole list of nominees here: http://ema.mtv.es/votar

Are you excited about these awards? Will you watch them? Are any of your favorite singers nominated?

If you watch it, you can also comment what you thought of the awards in general and if you think the winners deserved their prices.

  1. I'm actually watching the awards as i write this. I was excited to watch them because a lot of artists i like were both performing and nominated. So far i can say the performances we're quiet impressive. Everyone worked on their costumes and choreography's making all the shows worth watching. However, i was a bit disappointed that a lot of the nominated artists that won weren't there to receive their prize but accepted it via a camera. On the other hand, i understand that they have very busy lives, touring and doing various things for which they're not to blame. I'm going to finish watching them now.

I would like to attend to one of these events: I'm sure it's exciting to see it with your own eyes and in first person. I didn't watch the awards and I don't know the results, but I believe Lady Gaga had many numbers to win, as well as Kings of Leon and Rihanna. These three have worked very hard this year in order to produce new music that certainly pleased the audience.

I watched the awards as I was doing zapping with a comedy film, I would like to say that I think this MTV awards hadn't any surprise, all was as everybody wanted an everybody predict. I think lots of artists which wine this songs only win them because of its big influence and big mass of fans around the world, either KOL (Kings of Leon)was nominated for awards everybody knew they weren't be the winners.
I looked at the nominations and I saw that two of my favourite bands were nominated such as KOL and muse. Muse worked really hard on its last album Resistance and did a great world tour as everybody says and from my one experience I would say muse is actually is the better band in world stage. KOL has really good albums and there are now working in the new one, either I love their music I hate them a bit because they did a concert in Barcelona years ago that they suspend everybody thought about their return but in their European tour, in Spain they only assist to Madrid, this is really strange in band because Barcelona historically is a place where music sells well.
Finally I would like to add that I am not interested on the MTV awards until non-commercial bands and songs are nominated.

  4. I did not watch this European music award , but generally i dislike most of the bands of this type of events.

I think they should try and give oportunity to other different music bands , in my opinion there are other music types which also really sound as great as the ones in this huge music festivals. Moreoever , generally in most of this type of events it is known that more than an artist starts on with playback , something that i totally hate.
In addition , not in this specific music award festival , but in general , things have changed in this types of concerts . It is those music bands which are more promoted by the most powerfull media companies or in TV series which get the chance to perform in them , and probably other bands with a bigger number of fans or just a band playing better than them dont get the chance to play in cities in which they would love to performed.

As a conclusion I would like to say that they should try and vary music , giving oportunities to those who dont always get the chance to perform lively . I am begginig to become tired and tired of this type of music which is always repetitive.
