Eton Style Gangnam

The latest viral sensation on the web is the Eton version of the Gangnam video clip. Enjoy! (Open it on Youtube to read the lyrics.)

The clip is full of references to life at Eton and these are explained here.

Eton is the exclusive UK secondary school which has been responsible for the education of the current Prime Minister (David Cameron), current Mayor of London (Boris Johnson) and members of the royal family (Prince William).

In fact, David Cameron is one of an increasing number of 'famous people' to perform the Gangnam dance! The Gangnam video has been seen over 510 million times and spawned a huge number of take-offs. The United Nations has called it, 'a force for world peace'.

  • What do you think of the video... and Eton?
  • Do you think these videos can affect 'world peace'?
  • Could we and should we make an 'Oak House Gangnam'?

  1. I find that Gangnam style is funny and is actually music but that Eton style is only a parody that discredits Eton as a school. That is a bad promotion to such a prestigious school. I would like to add that the fact that a teacher gets involved with this is illogical. Students are teenagers and are on the age to this things but the teacher we assume is there because he is keen on teaching.

I think that these videos are really a force for world peace because with the 510 million reproductions, it has been seen all over the world. It's a way to get to know different cultures. In the musical world there are no languages required and people from different places can share the same likes. It's like a way to join the world.

To sum up, I think that is funny to imitate it but to instead change the lyrics just to laugh at something is just useless and disrespectful. So it wouldn't be a good idea to do it with Oak House because it gives a bad image of the school by telling all the things the students are against. On the other hand Oak House apart of having a good education is also good known by the respectful and good behaviour of the students so this would show all the opposite.
